As Winter Winds Down

Places to Explore During the Winter

Hi everyone – now that the hustle and bustle of Christmas is done, we thought you’d enjoy exploring around Wayne County, see what this beautiful area has to offer:

Specialty Food

Yeah, I know, just about everyone over indulged the past few months, but these places are local owned and operated – come give them a try:

Imprint Coffee – 31 State Street, Sodus

Because it’s just relaxing to chill with a cup of fantastic coffee after the holiday:

Founded in 2016 by husband & wife team, Trevor & Christina Leach, Imprint Coffee Roasting Co. set out to bring specialty coffee where there wasn’t any available. With a mobile roastery and espresso bar, we set out to showcase our passion for stellar coffee. We visited four farmers’ markets per week and any special event that we could. What a blast it was! The communities we visited loved our product and we loved serving them.

We’re roasting on 15kg roaster, meaning every batch is 33lb or less. We are proud to source ethically and directly from all over the world, and serving our customers with love and joy because we LOVE what we do! We have an incredible staff of coffeeholics that serve with an equal amount of pride and precision. Come check us out!”

Embark Craft Ciderworks – 6895 Lake Avenue, Williamson

Because coffee may not be your thing:

Farmers first and foremost, we’ve been growing great tasting apples since 1909.

Embark Craft Ciderworks was founded by apple growers, passionate about farming and showcasing unique flavor profiles in craft ciders. As farmers first and foremost, we know it’s the quality and uniqueness of the apples we use that make a great cider. We trust the apples (and in some cases, other fruits and natural ingredients) to provide the exceptional flavor you’ve come to love. No artificial ingredients needed.

We’re passionate about the local food movement—the power of food allows us to create the total cider experience. We take the freshest ingredients right from our field and combine them with other quality ingredients from local sources to create cheese and charcuterie boards as well as lunch and dinner options for you to enjoy while you drink.

Our portfolio is continually growing and many heirloom and Old World apple varieties have been planted specifically for use by Embark Craft Ciderworks. Expect to see new blended and single varietals released as we cultivate just the right apples to become the next Embark Craft ciders.”

Local Attractions

As winter winds down, Wayne county offers a few places to wind down in:

Ohmann Theatre – Williams Street, Lyons

The Ohmann Theatre was built in 1915 by Burt Ohmann in Lyons, New York. Burt operated the theatre through the 1930's. His sons Robert and Myron took over the management of the theatre together through the following twenty years. Robert continued to run the theatre as the sole proprietor and theatre manager until the late 1980's. In 2005 his oldest son Bob brought the theatre back to the Ohmann family with a complete reconstruction.

Through its long and proud history the Ohmann Theatre has been a live theatre house, the site of vaudeville and musical entertainment, and even a venue for amateur boxing. Of course, the movie screen was always there, lighting the faces of the finest actors and the most touching cinematic moments, from the earliest silent films through the talkie era and beyond.

Now back in the Ohmann family and renovated to modern standards but still with the old-fashioned charm and character of the original house, the lights are shining brightly at the Ohmann Theatre again.
